With the holidays and family occasions, the end of the year is always a busy time. It's easy to forget things like vision insurance benefits expiring at the end of the year. Many Flexible Spending Accounts, or FSAs, expire on December 31, along with traditional vision insurance benefits. Most plans offer a set amount of money to use for vision services/materials, and if you don't use them, they disappear. It's your money, and it can't be used in the coming year, so don't waste it. At Eyes of Texas Vision Care, we offer a wide variety of products and services designed to take advantage of your vision program.
Most vision plans include at least one eye examination, plus a designated amount for needed eyeglasses or contact lenses. If you haven't already come into our office this year, now is the perfect time for an end of year eye exams. Our team is experienced in determining what benefits your plan allows, including necessary co-pays and limits on products. Most insurance plans cover a comprehensive eye examination, standard lenses, and frames within a certain monetary limit. If you'd rather wear contact lenses, your plan may consider them electives and not cover them, or they may pay part or all of the costs. Let us determine exactly what coverage you have. Our team members will guide you through the process and advise you on all the benefits you're eligible to receive.
If you've already had your annual eye examination, you still don't have to let those benefits expire. We offer a wide variety of products and services that you can use your FSA dollars on. Your plan may include a benefit for multiple pairs of eyeglasses, and a backup pair is always a smart thing to own. If not, think about stocking up on accessories such as microfiber cleaning cloths, cleaning sprays, decorative accessories, and even sunglasses. The money's in your account, don't let it go to waste!
